The new CFD-G50 boombox has a CD player, AM/FM digital tuner, and cassette recorder in a rugged urban-tech design. This sub-woofer is driven by a separate amplifier, so that the boombox output totals 20 watts. It was a fine Saturday afternoon when I had finally picked out an expensive speaker system to hook to my computer so that Sirius Online would sound better. Before purchasing we noticed a Sirius Boombox for only $50 (ranges from $50 - $100 online). I spend a lot more time at home than in the car.

I am not into Sirius radio. However, when I was in Radio Shack the other day, I heard this Sirius Boombox playing. I must say, it is one of the nicest sounding boomboxes I've heard in recent times. The tone is smooth and mellow. Unlike most boomboxes, it does not sound harsh.

Bosch claims its weatherproof Power Box radio is durable enough for a construction site, so we threw it across Bosch's Booth at a recent tradeshow. Not only did it survive, the CD didn't even skip. This isn't the first job-site radio but its the first to really impress us. Why? A steel-and-rubber frame protects the ruggedized shell, which houses four ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected outlets for power tools. The outlets cut power if water leaks in, so you won't get fried. There's also a slot in the back to charge the batteries for your cordless power tools; when you find yourself away from an outlet the radio can run off those same batteries. The radio also includes a mini-plug input for your MP3 player and a 12V DC outlet to recharge your cell phone. When on job sites one of the guys brings out the company radio. It's the Bosch PB10-CD Radio/CD Boom-box and it's a lot more than just the radio we usually use it for. It's a multi use Boom Box that is great for both work and play.

So far so good. I just purchased a refurbished Bosch through a company that ordered through Amazon. I really like the features and I find much better than the Dewalt model. I looked at Dewalt's similar product, but found it to be a glorified AM/FM radio.

On my jobsite, the radio is the first tool to be plugged in in the morning, and the last to be packed up at the end of the day. It gets more use than anything else on site. The Bosch radio stands up to more abuse than any other radio on the market.
